Subject:  SLRF 2003: Extension to Abstract Deadline


Due to the many requests for an extension on the SLRF 2003 Call for
Papers, we decided to move the FINAL deadline to April 21st,
2003. Please see below and on our website
(http://www.coh.arizona.edu/slrf2003/) for instructions.

Many of you have already sent in one or more abstracts. Thank you very
much for these submissions. It will take us about a week to process
your abstracts.  After that time period, you will receive a
confirmation email, indicating whether ie received all the necessary
information with your submission. We have received a large number of
submissions, and will start reviewing the abstracts next
week. Notification of acceptance/rejection will be sent to you within
the next two months. We are hoping that we will be done by the end of
May.

CALL FOR PAPERS
The Second Language Research Forum (SLRF) is a prestigious and
internationally renowned conference on second language acquisition
(SLA). It is the premier conference on SLA in North America providing
a venue for established scholars and graduate students to present work
on a wide variety of theoretical and empirical issues in SLA including
cognitive, linguistic and sociolinguistic SLA research conducted in
both laboratory and classroom settings.  Abstracts for papers/posters
regarding theory and research in SLA, especially interdisciplinary
approaches to second language acquisition are invited.  Please choose
one submission format:
- Paper Presentations: 30 minutes long with a 10-minute discussion
period.
- Poster Presentations: to be displayed for a 2-hour block of time.
