Linguistic Sub-field: Linguistic Theories

Meeting Description:

In the Nijmegen Lectures series, a leading scientist in the fields of
psychology or linguistics presents a three-day series of lectures and
seminars. The series is meant to allow broad and intensive coverage of
research topics by providing extensive interaction among the invited
speaker and the participants. The series is a collaborative activity
of the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics and the Interfaculty
Research Unit for Language and Speech of the University of
Nijmegen. This year's series will be presented by Joan Bresnan,
Stanford University, (Stanford, USA): Categoricity and Gradience in
Syntax.

The Nijmegen Lectures 2003 committee is happy to announce that
registration for the series is still possible. This year's lectures
will be presented by Joan Bresnan from Stanford University. They will
take place December 10 - 12 at the Max Planck Institute for
Psycholinguistics and the University of Nijmegen.  Invited discussants
for afternoon sessions are Bernard Comrie (MPI for Evolutionary
Anthropology), Gisbert Fanselow (University of Potsdam), and
Henriëtte de Swart (University of Utrecht).
