Description:

Applications are invited from scholars of international distinction
for a Professorial appointment in the Department of Linguistics at
Queen Mary, University of London.  The area of specialism is open, but
expertise in Phonology may be an advantage.

Applications are also invited from scholars of international
distinction for a Professorial appointment in Spanish Linguistics in
the Department of Hispanic Studies at Queen Mary, University of
London.

The departments of Linguistics and of Hispanic Studies were both
assessed at the top level of 5* in the 2001 UK Research Assessment
Exercise.

Competative remuneration packages are negotiable with the Principal,
Professor AFM Smith, FRS. Fully funded postgraduate research
studentships are available to support this initiative.
