Description:

Bowne Global Solutions, the leading provider of outsourced
globalization solutions, has an immediate opening in its San Diego R&D
division for the following full-time position:

Machine Translation Software Development Group
Linguistic Database Developer

Primary Responsibilities:
· Design, implement and administer SQL Server 2000 databases,
containing linguistic data for machine translation, with an emphasis
on automation of the system.
· Support legacy Access 2000 linguistic databases.

Secondary Responsibilities:
· Maintain and augment machine-readable dictionaries, grammar rules
and parse trees.
· Evaluate and analyze machine translation output.

Required Skills:
Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, work well in a team
environment, and possess the following:
· SQL Server 2000 Skills (Administration and Programming, 2+ years
experience)
· Visual Basic and/or VBScript Skills
· B.A. or higher in Linguistics or Computational Linguistics
· English Fluency

Additional Skills Desired:
· Access 2000 Skills
· Spanish, German or Italian Fluency (strongly preferred)
