Dissertation Abstract:

Lori dialect of BowerAhmadi belongs to the family of the languages of
south western of Iran, and is related to modern persian in terms of
its grammatical and lexical structure. There are twenty five
consonants, six vowels, and two diphthongs. Its syllabic structure
is cv(c(c)).

In this research, after a brief discussion about historical,
geographical and cultural conditions of the native land, both
consonants and vowels are determined and described. Then discussing
some aspects of supra-segmentals, the grammatical construction of VP
and NP, based on what is already done in the field of Persian,
particularly applied linguistics, is established.

The transcription of a recorded short story narrated by a native
informant as well as the table of verbal categories, together with a
list of approximately one thousand original lexical items of Bower
Ahmadi dialect are included in the thesis.
