EDICE Programme (Studies of Politeness Discourse in Spanish), from
Stockolm University (Sweden), addresses research projects related to
the topic of politeness in Spanish. It includes studies in the areas
of linguistics, antropology, sociology, and literature as its
objectives are multi- and interdisciplinary. Accordingly, EDICE
Programme promotes a scientific exchange between institutions,
universities, and researchers who somehow approach the study of
politeness in each variety of Spanish in its specific socio-cultural
context.

In the last two years, EDICE Programme has organised international
exchange activities between Sweden, Argentina, England and Spain, (a
Fellowship Programme financed by STINT, The Swedish Foundation for
International Cooperation in Research and Higher Education), and in
September 2002 the ''EDICE Programme First Colloquium'', attended by
European and LatinAmerican researchers (for more information please
