The Seminario de Sociolinguistica, Bilinguismo e Linguas en Contacto
of the Universidade de Vigo (Galicia, Spain) announces the Second
International Conference on Discourse, Communication and the
Enterprise (DICOEN 2003) to be held in Vigo, November 12-14, 2003.
This conference, that gives continuity to the first one taken place in
Lisbon in 2001, aims to promote interaction and discussion among
researchers interested on the relevance of discourse and communication
in the enterprise.

CALL FOR PAPERS

This conference, that gives continuity to the first one taken place in
Lisbon in 2001, aims to promote interaction and discussion among
researchers interested on the relevance of discourse and communication
in the enterprise. DICOEN 2003 welcomes papers from a variety of
disciplines such as: linguistics, discourse analysis, marketing,
sociology, psychology, e-commerce, economics, management, etc.
Contributions are particularly welcome on themes related language in
use and the framing of discoursive and cultural practices in the
enterprise such as:

Business discourse
Communication in organitations
Language and organizational change
New technologies in business communication
Multilingual enterprises
Customer-server communication
Advertising discourse
Organizational discourse and power
Discourse of strategic management
Discoursive practices in public institutions
Bureaucratic discourse
Discourse and organizational inequalities
Strategic discourse in organizations
Management, control and discourse
Discourse and economics.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

*Presentations will be 20 minutes in length followed by a 10-minute
discussion period.

*Submision and abstracts should contain:

1. A cover shett containing:

-The title of the paper
-The author's name, affiliation, postal address, e-mail, fax & phone
number
-A list of equipment for presentation (subject to availability)

2. Four copies of one-page abstract

3. A hard copy with an electronic version of the abstract in Rich Text
Format. Only PC-compatible diskettes please. Only copies sent by post
will are considered (not e-mail or fax please).

***Submission deadline: May 1st, 2003
