Meeting Description:

COCOSDA is an international workshop held annually by the oriental
chapter of The International Committee for the Co-ordination and
Standardization of Speech Databases and Assessment Techniques for
Speech Input/Output. The first preparatory meeting was held in Hong
Kong and then the past five workshops were held in Japan, Taiwan,
China Mainland, Korea and Thailand.

Oriental COCOSDA 2003

Call For Paper

The Chinese and Oriental Languages Information Processing Society of
Singapore is pleased to announce that the Oriental COCOSDA 2003 will
be held in Singapore on June 24-26, 2003. This meeting will be held
concurrently with the 17th Pacific Asia Conference on Language,
Information and Computation (PACLIC 17).

Papers are invited on substantial, original, and unpublished research
on all aspects of speech databases and assessment techniques for
speech input/output, including, but not limited to:

speech databases and corpora
assessment of speech technologies
speech input and output
phonetic systems for oriental languages
segmentation and labeling
speech models and systems
multilingual speech corpora
special topics on speech databases and assessments
any other relevant topics.

Paper should be submitted electronically to website
http://cslp.comp.nus.edu.sg/cgi-bin/journal/Review1.exe. Please
register as a user first. In case of difficulties, you may also submit
you paper as an e-mail attachment to: luakt at comp.nus.edu.sg.

The maximum length of a paper is 20 A4-sized pages, 11pt,
double-spaced throughout. For e-mail submission, the first page of the
submitted paper should bear the following information: the title of
the paper, the name(s) of the author(s), affiliations, mailing
address, and email address for correspondence. Acceptable file formats
are PostScript (.ps), Portable Document Format (.pdf), MS Word (.doc),
and plain text. Please separate the first page from the main body of
the paper so that it can be reviewed anonymously. There is no need to
include this page if your paper is submitted electronically to our web
cgi, because you would have entered all these to our computer system
when you register as a user.

General, we do not accept hard copy submission for this
conference. Hard copy will only be accepted under extreme
condition. Please email luakt at comp.nus.edu.sg for assistance.

Accepted papers will be published in the Conference
Proceedings. Suitable papers may also be considered to be included in
a special issue of our Journal of Chinese Language and Computing.

Meeting Description:

The Chinese and Oriental Languages Information Society is pleased to
announce that the 17th Pacific Asia Conference on Language,
Information and Computation (PACLIC 17) will be held at Singapore from
24 to 26 June, 2003. The Conference is an annual meeting of scholars
in theoretical and computational linguistics from the Pacific Asia
region. This meeting will be held concurrently with O-COCOSDA
2003.

Extended abstracts are invited on unpublished research on all aspects
of both theoretical and computational linguistics, including, but not
limited to: morphology, phonology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics,
discourse analysis, typology, corpus linguistics, formal grammar
theory, natural language processing, natural language systems and
related computer applications.

Abstracts at most 6 A4 pages long (about 1,500 words), using 11pt
fonts and double line spacing throughout, with the title of the paper,
the name(s) of the author(s), affiliation(s), postal address, and
e-mail address for correspondence on a separate page. Accepted papers
will be published in the Conference Proceedings. A camera-ready full
paper is expected to be about 10 A4 pages with single line spacing.

The deadline for abstract submission is 1 March, 2003. We accept only
electronic submissions. Please submit your paper to our website:
http://cslp.comp.nus.edu.sg/cgi-bin/journal/review1.exe.  Acceptable
