Journal of Universal Language	

Call Deadline: 15-Aug-2003

The Journal of Universal Language calls for papers for the JUL 4:2,
which will be published in September, 2003.

Honorarium:
As a token of our gratitude, the authors whose paper will appear in
the Journal of Universal Language will be given the $1,000 honorarium
(which is subject to taxation).

Topic Areas:

The Journal of Universal Language is concerned with: -artificial
language, communication & culture in language usage, typology, and
universality in language; -interdisciplinary contributions written
with applied linguists in mind; -brief notes, comments or observation
concerning official language; -reaction/replies to recent papers.

The editors encourage the submission of papers on proposed themes as
well as on other topics relevant to the interest of the Journal of
Universal Language. Each volume contains two issues, published in
March and September. The language of publication is English.

Format:
1. The length of a manuscript should not exceed 25 pages.
2. A 200-word abstract should be given at the beginning of each
manuscript.
3. Manuscripts should be submitted on A4 paper, with the margins at
least 4cm on all four sides of each sheet. They may be single-spaced
and/or double-sided, if desired.

Important Dates:
No Submission deadline: We accept manuscripts throughout the year.
Notification of acceptance: September 1, 2003
Submission of camera-ready papers: September 15, 2003

Submissions:
1. Electronic submissions are acceptable. Acceptable file formats are
Portable Document Format (.pdf) and MS Word (.doc). Please send your
file in an attachment to jytak at sejong.ac.kr.
2. For hard copy submissions, please send 3 copies, accompanied by a
cover letter which includes the author's name, affiliation, address,
and home or office phone number, to:

International Graduate Student Conference Student Organization of
Linguistics in Europe

3rd Call for Papers

Call Deadline: 1 August 2003

This year's CONSOLE will be hosted by the Section of Linguistics of
the Department of Philology of the University of Patras, Patras,
Greece on the 12th, 13th, and 14th of December 2003. Abstracts from
all areas of General and Applied Linguistics are invited to be
submitted (Phonetics, Phonology, Morphology, Syntax, Semantics,
Language Acquisition, Neurolinguistics, Discourse Analysis).  We
especially encourage the submission of abstracts from the areas of
Phonetics, Phonology and Morphology. This year's invited speakers are
Prof. Dr. Angela Ralli (University of Patras), Dr. Anthi Revithiadou
(Aegean University), Dr. Anna Roussou (University of Patras).

Abstracts should by no means exceed two pages, including data,
graphemes, figures, and/ or references. The font should be Times New
Roman 12 pt, with 1 inch margin for all sides. SILDoulos or IPAKiel
should be used for data phonetic transcriptions. Please include
personal information (affiliation, surface mail, e-mail address, title
of the paper, area of specialization) in the body of your
message. Send your abstract in a PDF or WORD doc format.  The final
date for the submission of abstracts is the 1st of August
2003. Notification of acceptance is due to the 10th of September 2003
and the final program will be notified the first week of October. More
details about the conference will be provided in theconference's
website.
