The Department of Chinese Language and Literature provides a wide
range of general education to undergraduates and advanced training in
MA and PhD degree programs in Chinese literature and Chinese
linguistics. And some of the faculty do research work at the Tsinghua
Research Centre of Linguistics and the Computational Linguistic Lab.

Applications are invited for an assistant/associate/full professor
appointment in Chinese linguistics or linguistic theories. Preference
will be given to specialization on topics such as Chinese historical
phonology, Chinese dialects, and interaction between syntax and
semantics in Chinese. Familiarity with linguistic field work, or
computational linguistics is highly desirable.

Salary is highly competitive in mainland China,but not in the world,of
course. Starting salary will be commensurate with experience. Fringe
benefits include medical benefits and annual leave. Assistance in
housing will also be provided where applicable. Appointment to begin
