Description:

Educational Testing Service in Princeton, NJ is looking for a
computational linguist.

BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages the development, installation, maintenance, and documentation
of computer programs for NLP-based commercial applications. Executes
day-to-day development activities to meet user specifications,
including systems design, coding, testing, debugging, implementation,
and documentation.

- Design, develop, and implement text analysis for research and
  production
- Design, develop and implement statistical language models and
  classifiers.
- Maintain full technical knowledge of all phases of systems analysis
  and programming.
- Prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written
- Write documentation, evaluation reports and operating procedures,
  and maintain quality assurance
- Detail-oriented, a self-starter, and possessing strong
  organizational and follow-up skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multi-task, plan and initiate action, and establish and
  meet deadlines
- Ability to develop solid understanding of research and/or commercial
  applications

EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of PERL, Java, C, and C++

Concentrated NLP experience (especially with very large corpora) and
web-based application development is desirable

EDUCATION
Master's or PhD in Computational Linguistics or Computer Science with
a minimum of 2-5 years of diverse programming experience in Natural
Language Processing (NLP) or an equivalent combination of education
and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities have been
acquired.
