Description:

A Research Associate is required to work on a project on quantitative
modelling of intonational variation in English, under the supervision
of Esther Grabe and John Coleman. We seek applicants with a higher
degree in one of the following areas: speech and signal processing,
computational linguistics, or experimental phonetics. Experience in
acoustic phonetics and/or prosody will be an advantage.

The principal duties of the post holder will be the following:

i) Statistical and computational work on the project, including
   electronic dissemination
ii) Documentation of their work
iii) Contribution to the writing of papers and other deliverables

The appointment will be for 2 years, from 1st May 2003, on the RS1A
salary scale (currently £18,265 to £27,339 p.a.).
