Second Call for Papers

We are pleased to invite submissions to DICOEN2003, the Second
International Conference on Discourse, Communication and Enterprise,
to be held in Vigo, Spain, November 12-14, 2003.

This conference, which continues the theme initiated by the first one
in Lisbon in 2001, aims to promote interaction and discussion among
researchers interested in the relevance of discourse and communication
to the world of business. DICOEN2003 welcomes papers from a variety of
disciplines such as: linguistics, discourse analysis, marketing,
sociology, psychology, e-commerce, economics, management, etc. We
particularly welcome contributions with themes related to language in
use and the framing of discursive and cultural practices in business
such as:

o Business discourse
o Language and organizational change
o Customer-server communication
o Advertising discourse
o Communication in organizations
o New techologies in business communication
o Multilingual enterprises
o Organitational discourse and power
o Bureaucratic discourse
o Strategic discourse in organizations
o Discoursive practices in public institutions
o Economic discourse
o Management, control and discourse
o Discourse and organitational inequalities

Submission Guidelines
Presentations will be 20 minutes in length followed by a 10-minute
discussion period.  Submission and abstracts should contain:

1. A cover sheet containing
The title of the paper;
The author's name, affiliation, mailing address, e-mail, fax & phone
number;
A list of equipment for presentation (subject to availability).

2. Four copies of a one-page abstract.

3. A hard copy with an electronic version of the abstract in Rich Text
Format. Only PC-compatible diskettes, please. Only copies sent by post
will be considered (not e-mail or fax, please).

Important deadlines
June 15th, 2003: Last day of submission of abstract
July 15th, 2003 : Notification of acceptance
September 15th, 2003: Programme available
