Description:


The Department of World Language Education at the University of South
Florida in Tampa, Florida is seeking a Visiting Professor of Applied
Linguistics for a one-year appointment effective August 7, 2003.

Responsibilities:
Teach 3 courses per semester, including: Introduction to Linguistics
(undergraduate course), Applied Linguistics, Second Language
Acquisition, Structure of English, Cross-Cultural Issues in ESL, and
TESL Internship (graduate courses).  Participate actively in program
management of the M.A. program in Applied Linguistics (e.g. assist
with development, administration, and evaluation of tools exam,
comprehensive exam, and end-of-program portfolios).

Qualifications:
Required: Doctorate in Applied Linguistics, TESOL, or related field.
Excellent communication skills in English.  Experience teaching
ESL/EFL as well as undergraduate/graduate applied linguistics courses.
