One full-time, tenure-track position for Associate Professor

Starting date: October 1, 2003

Qualifications: Ph.D. in TESL/TEFL/Applied Linguistics or a related
field; a native English speaker with at least three years' experience
in TESL/TEFL or a related field; ability to teach English courses in
academic English and academic/technical writing that are appropriate
for students majoring in computer science and computer engineering;
experience with computer-based language instruction.

Duties: teaching 4-5 classes per semester (1 class is 90 minutes per
week); developing course materials; participating in group projects;
serving on committees; conducting research; and carrying out other
university-related responsibilities.

Salary: Based on the Fukushima Salary Scale for Public Employees.

Benefits: Subsidized furnished housing; one-way airfare and shipping;
etc.

   The University of Aizu is the first international university in
Japan solely dedicated to computer science and engineering, and
approximately half of its faculty are non-Japanese for some ten
different countries.  The University is equipped with highly advanced
