We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it
is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have
taken the trouble to respond to the query.

Dear linguists,

I am a PhD student and I am working on reflexives and intensifiers in
ancient Indo-European languages. I have some specific questions on
particular languages. Does anyone of you know anything about:

- reflexive uses of ''tanu'' in Avestan?
- reflexives in Old Prussian?

Moreover, I am interested in any specific work on reflexives and
intensifiers in ancient Indo-European languages.

Thanks a lot

I am doing a review of the literature regarding the use of figuartive
langauge in newspaper editorials (specifically, The New York Times,
The Washington Post, a Bulgarian and a Russian paper). Could anyone
suggest previous research in this area? I am new to linguistics and
apologize for lacking the terminology to ask a more directed
question. I can be reached at: marfken at utk.edu. Thank you for your
help.
