Following on the success of The 1st International Conference on
Chinese Sociolinguistics (Beijing, 2002), The 2nd International
Conference on Chinese Sociolinguistics cum The Inaugural Meeting of
The Association of Chinese Sociolinguistics is to be held at Macao on
November 20-21, 2003. The present conference will be the sequel to
those two, but will be the first conference in the area of Chinese
sociolinguistics with a public call-for-papers.

Abstracts are invited for 20-minute talks (followed by 10 minutes of
discussion) addressing any topic in the areas of Chinese
sociolinguistics and/or theoretical and empirical issues on speech
community

Guidelines for abstracts are as follows:
*Abstracts (and talks) may be in English or Chinese.
*Abstracts may be sent by mail or e-mail.
*By mail: send one copy of a one-page abstract (A4 or letter-size
paper, in 12 point type, with at least 1.25 inch margins on all sides)
to the following address:

*By e-mail: English abstracts should be no more than 500 words
(abstracts in Chinese should be no more than 1,000 Chinese characters)
