We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it
is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have
taken the trouble to respond to the query.

Dear staff,

I'm an Italian student (University of Genoa), I'm writing my final
work in order to get my degree.

I'm writing about the spontaneous acquisition of Italian as a second
language for people coming from Ecuador, as here in Genoa we've got a
lot of Ecuatorian immigrants.

Where can I find any article in English about this subject, or better,
about the acquisition of Italian by a Spanish talker? Have you got
any link to suggest me?

Best Regards.

Paola Cavassa

Dear Sirs,

I am doing a study on gradable and ungradable adjectives(Those
adjectives which cannot be made into comparative ones) in English and
make a contrastive analysis between Farsi and English.

I'd appreciate any kind help.

Truly.
Abulqasim Avand
