Job Opening: Program Coordinator
Hablenos de su salud project

Responsibilities:

The Hablenos de su salud project at the University of North Texas
Health Science Center is seeking a Program Coordinator for a
multi-faceted program geared to improving health access to Spanish
speakers through effective language services. Hablenos de su salud is
a program sponsored by The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The Program
Coordinator will be actively involved in assisting the Principal
Investigator with the research component of the project, including
collection and analysis of language data. The candidate will also be
responsible for coordinating and overseeing project activities,
including preparation of all deliverables (Quarterly Reports,
Financial Reports, etc.). Duties also include assisting the PI with
recruitment of students for the Health Interpreting and Health Applied
Linguistics program under development; review of student applications;
language proficiency test administration and scoring; arranging
monthly meetings with collaborating healthcare providers, arranging
workshops and seminars, and developing a newsletter for collaborating
providers and students.

Preferences: A Master's or PhD in translation and interpretation,
applied linguistics, second-language acquisition or related field, and
experience in translation and interpretation in the health fields. The
ideal candidate will have previous experience and interest in language
research. Candidates must have excellent reading, writing, listening,
and speaking skills in both Spanish and English.

-Part-time or full-time.
-Salary is commensurate with experience.
-To begin immediately.
