Description:

The Applied Computer Science Group under the chair of Prof. G. Sagerer
at Bielefeld University, Germany, invites applications for a full-time
PostDoc or Ph.D. position as


	COMPUTATIONAL LINGUIST / COMPUTER SCIENTIST

	for the development of a multi-modal dialogue system
	for a mobile robot.	


The position is part of the EU project ''Cogniron'' consisting of 12
European research institutions that are working on the realization of
a ''cognitive robot companion''.

The selected candidate will design and implement (C++/Java) a
multi-modal dialogue system for a mobile robot in joint collaboration
with a colleague in the local group.

The successful accomplishment of the project requires a thorough
scientific representation of the project by well written publications
and reports. The selected candidate will work within a team of
computer scientists and linguists in the applied computer science
group in Bielefeld and co-operate with the European project
partners. Therefore, strong social and communication skills are
required together with a high motivation to work within a team.

The position starts on January, 1st 2004. The first project phase is
limited to 18 months. Depending on the annual review, the project may
be extended till up to 2007. Payment is according to BAT IIa
(approx. 1600 EUR per month after tax and social security).
