Description:

Queens College of the City University of New York: The Department of
Linguistics and Communication Disorders seeks to fill a tenure-track
position at the Assistant Professor level in the Fall of 2004. Salary
range: $35,031 - $65,388, commensurate with qualifications and
achievement; excellent benefits. The successful candidate must have a
specialization in ESOL teacher education, with emphasis on pedagogy
and assessment. Additional areas of expertise include second language
acquisition and literacy. Experience with urban schools is desirable.
The person who fills this position will teach in bachelor's and
master's programs in TESOL and applied linguistics and supervise
student teachers. A strong commitment to research is essential.
Candidates must have earned a doctorate in Applied Linguistics, TESOL,
or a related field and should evidence promise of excellence in
teaching and scholarship. Candidates should submit a letter of
application, detailing their teaching and research interests and
experience, and a current curriculum vitae. In addition, letters of
reference should be submitted directly by three recommenders. The
deadline for receipt of applications is December 3, 2003. All
