Description:

Applications are invited for a full-time position on the English
faculty at The University of Electro-Communications (Denki Tsushin
Daigaku).

Rank: jokyoju (associate professor) or koshi (assistant professor)

Teaching assignments: required English courses for 1st- and 2nd-year
students,and advanced elective courses

Date of appointment: April 1, 2004

Qualifications: Applicants,must have a Ph.D. or an equivalent research
career in TESOL, literature, linguistics, applied linguistics, SLA,
intercultural studies, or related fields.

Applicants may be of any nationality, but are expected to possess
sufficient fluency in Japanese to conduct administrative duties.

Teaching experience is essential. Experience at university level will
be highly valued.

Documents to be submitted:
(1) a CV including date of birth and a recent photo
(2) a list of academic publications and presentations
(3) three recent and relevant publications (reprints or photocopies)
(4) a brief statement in English (no more than 1000 words) of your
    particular interests and strengths in English language teaching
(5) a brief statement in Japanese (no more than 3000 characters) of
    your research accomplishments and interests
(6) names with contact information (including e- mail addresses and
    telephone numbers) of three references, with an explanation of
    your relationship to thereferences
