Meeting Description:

Speech Prosody is the international conference that brings together
researchers working in all areas related to speech. Following the
first conference in Aix-en-Provence, the second conference of Speech
Prosody 2004 (SP2004) will be held in Nara, Japan, at the end of March
2004. The aim of the conference is to highlight issues from the basic
sciences and from applications in technology, education, and medicine,
so that all researchers will receive an up-to-date overview of the
entire field. Speech prosody covers a huge multidisciplinary area
involving academics, scientists, and engineers with various research
backgrounds, united by an interest in human communication.  Papers in
any field dealing with speech prosody are welcome. The topics of the
conference will include:

  Prosody and the Brain
  Physics of Voice
  Analysis, Formulation and Modeling of Prosody
  Syntax, Semantics, Pragmatics and Prosody
  Cross-linguistic Studies of Prosody
  Variations in Prosody
  Prosody of Dialogues and Spontaneous Speech
  Prosody of Expressive Speech
  Prosody and Speech Perception
  Prosody in Speech Synthesis
  Prosody in Speech Recognition and Understanding
  Prosody in Language Learning
  Pathology of Prosody and Aids for the Impaired
  Annotation and Speech Corpus Creation
  Others

Papers in any field dealing with speech prosody are welcome. All
submissions will go through careful evaluation and review by renowned
specialists of each area before the final acceptance or rejection
decision is made.
