The 16th North American Conference on Chinese Linguistics (NACCL-16)
will be held from Friday, May 21 through Sunday, May 23, 2004 at The
University of Iowa.  Abstracts are invited (deadline: December 15th,
2003) for 20-minute talks in all theoretical and research areas
(incl. language acquisition) of Chinese linguistics. For Registration

The 16th North American Conference on Chinese Linguistics (NACCL-16)
will be held from Friday, May 21 through Sunday, May 23, 2004 at The
University of Iowa.

Abstracts are invited for 20-minute talks in all theoretical and
research areas of Chinese linguistics.

Requirements for Submission of Abstracts:

Abstracts must be camera-ready, on a single page, single spaced, in
12-point type, with one inch margins.

Mail five (5) copies of the abstract, one of which includes name(s) of
author(s), affiliation(s), and e-mail address(es); the other four (for
anonymous review) identified by title only.

Please include a 3x5 card containing the paper title, name(s) of
author(s), affiliation, status (student or non-student), address,
phone number, and e-mail.

To facilitate the reviewing process, identify on the card the primary
area of linguistics addressed in your paper (e.g.,
Phonetics/Phonology, Syntax, Semantics, Functional/Pragmatics,
Dialectology, Historical Phonology, Historical Syntax,
Computational/Corpus Linguistics, First Language Acquisition Studies,
Second Language Acquisition Studies, Psycholinguistics, or
Sociolinguistics).

Deadline for receipt of abstracts is December 15, 2003.

The 9th Conference on Laboratory Phonology will be held at the
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, hosted by the Department
of Linguistics and the Beckman Institute. The conference theme of
''Change in Phonology'' addresses the development of an ndividual's
phonological knowledge and the development of phonological systems in
languages over time through a set of six sub-themes related to
variation and change in phonology. **Extended Submission Deadline**
	
The deadline for submission of abstracts for Labphon 9 has been
extended to October 31, 2003. 1-page abstract submissions are invited
