Description:

An experienced Software Design Engineer for Test (SDET) Lead with a
solid background in Chinese Linguistics, to develop tests, tools and
projects for Chinese Natural Language projects.

The Natural Language Group (NLG) is Microsoft's central product group
for customer release of advanced linguistic technology. NLG partners
with Microsoft Research Asia (MSRA) on a number of linguistic projects
for East Asian languages.

Primary responsibility for this position is the creation and
maintenance of linguistic test data for Chinese projects. This
involves analyzing text and generating the expected linguistic
analysis based on the specification. Other responsibilities include
evaluating linguistic coverage, reporting accuracy, generating
linguistic bugs, tracking regression of the products and technology,
test tool development, debugging through product code and coordinating
with a remote test team in Redmond. Qualifications should include
demonstrated skills in detailed analysis of language, including
knowledge of linguistic terms for parts of speech, morphological
terms, syntactic and semantic structures, software product cycle and
release experience and the ability to employ effective test
methodology, automation and/or tools to achieve maximum coverage in
the most efficient way. Native or near-native Chinese language skills
required. Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics,
Natural Language Processing, Computer Science or related field, or
equivalent work experience/training required. Demonstrated ability in
C++, C# and/or Perl is preferred.
