We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it
is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have
taken the trouble to respond to the query.

To post to LINGUIST, use our convenient web form at

Subject: ToBI in Conversation Analysis?

Dear all,

I would like to address especially (but not only) conversation
analysts with the following question: Has the phonetic transcription
ToBI been used in CA work (I have found information only on the work
of Stefan Rabanus: LINGUIST List 12.908), is it, actually, worth
transcribing intonation this way in CA at all, and are there already
any studies whose authors profitted from combining CA and ToBI
transcription systems?

Thank you,
best regards,

Marian Sloboda

Dear all,

I would like to use a German morphological generator in dialogue
processing and therefore, I am looking for a freely available
morphological generation component.

Any help appreciated,
Petra Gieselmann
