Description:

The Language & Cognition Group at the Max Planck Institute for
Psycholinguistics seeks candidates for a 3 year doctoral student
fellowship to work in one of the group's primary projects (Event
Representation, Multimodal Interaction, Space). We are particularly
interested in a candidate to work on one of the following themes: (1)
Social interaction/discourse structure and grammar (2) The relation
between grammatical/semantic categories and cognition

Candidates must be in possession of an MA and training in
communication, linguistics, psychology or linguistic anthropology, and
should either have a good working knowledge, or be a native speaker,
of a non-Indo-European language.

Applicants should send a full vita and a statement of their research
interests and how they would fit with the group, to Dr. Asifa Majid
(asifa.majid at mpi.nl, at the Max Planck Institute for
Psycholinguistics, P.O. Box 310, 6500 AH, Netherlands).
