Description:

The Department of English at Paderborn University, Germany, has an
opening for a Research Associate (wissenschaftlichen Mitarbeiter BAT
Iia) with specialization in English Applied Linguistics / Computing
Starting 15 September 2004.

This is a fractional position (50%). Appointments will be made for a
period of three years in the first instance and may be extended for a
further three years. This position is suitable for candidates wishing
to pursue a PhD in Applied Linguistics/ Language Acquisition Research.

Duties:
One course per semester (2hrs/ week), research duties in the project
Computational Tools for Language Acquisition Research.

Profile:
The successful candidates must be have an excellent command of
English, have an MA in linguistics or a related field, and knowledge
of programming languages suitable for the further development of
linguistic analysis tools (i.e. for profiling, and corpus analysis).
