Subject:  Natural Language Specification Tools

Hello Linguists,

I am trying come up with a survey paper(academic) on ''Natural
Language Specification Tools'' and looking out for some suggestions
and usefull links/directions and I appreciate if any one out there can
help in this. After some browsing and glancing few books, my
understanding of the NL specification tools points to Morphology,
Phonology, Semantics and syntax. I was wondering if I was right and
are there any other NL tools? if yes then what are they?

Subject:  English minimal pairs

What are minimal pairs in English which are useful in testing phoneme
recognition in very young children (2 years old)? I live in Israel, so
all the information I have available here concerns minimal pairs for
Hebrew or Arabic. I've found countless lists of English minimal pairs
on the internet, but have found it extremely difficult to find
anything that lists words which could be useful in a speech therapy or
A/V therapy context with very young children. In particular, I'm
looking for t/k, d/g, t/d, k/g and s/sh pairs (sorry, no phonetic font
here).

I appreciate any feedback anyone can give me.
