Description:

Unpaid volunteer position on a research project supported by a 5-year
National Institute of Mental Health research grant.

Bilingual research assistants conduct child and family evaluations;
score, enter and analyze data; and assist in various tasks part of the
project's daily operations. Research assistants work closely with
research coordinator.

Evaluations include testing (extensive child language assessment in
both Spanish and English; cognitive and achievement testing),
diagnostic psychiatric interviews, and administration of
questionnaires/surveys (for emotional/behavioral problems, and
sociodemographic, acculturation, immigration and other risk factors
and variables). Training will be provided.

One-year commitment minimum.

Minimum 16 hours per week. Schedule is generally flexible.

This position is ideal for someone:

Strongly interested in research and possibly empirical publications
(data available now).

Interested in obtaining experience in developmental language and
psychological/psychiatric research, planning to apply for graduate
studies.
