Description:

The Department of Linguistics of the Faculty of Liberal Arts,
Thammasat University, in Bangkok, Thailand, has two openings for
full-time teaching appointments in the field of Linguistics or Applied
Linguistics, starting in May 2004. Applicants must have an MA or PhD
in hand at the time of application. Preference will be given to native
speakers of English with an excellent academic record (plus teaching
experience, if any) from accredited institutions. The base monthly
salary for this position is 21,600 baht plus an 8,000 baht housing
allowance. The application deadline is 16 February 2002. To apply,

The Department of Linguistics at Thammasat University is the oldest in
Thailand and the only to offer a bachelor's degree in Linguistics as
well as a master's degree that focuses on Linguistics for
Communication. Plans are now being made to offer a PhD in Linguistics
starting in 2004. The Department also publishes the Journal of
Language and Linguistics. Currently in its fifteenth year, the Journal
is the only specialized linguistics publication of its type in
Thailand. It provides a forum for publication of original articles in
any area of language, linguistics, and language teaching. For more
