Description:

The Department of Classics, Modern Languages and Linguistics at
Concordia University in Montreal, Canada invites applications for up
to two limited-term appointments in the area of Linguistic
Theory. Applicants must have a PhD or ABD status and proven excellence
in teaching. For one position, the optimal candidate will have an
active research profile in the area of syntax and semantics. For the
other positions, any field within the domain of theoretical
linguistics will be considered. Courses to be taught by the second
candidate may include field methods and/or neurolinguistics.

The above positions are full-time, limited-term appointments,
beginning August 15, 2004 and ending May 31, 2005. Hiring is subject
to budgetary approval. These positions are normally at the rank of
Lecturer or Assistant Professor. Candidates will be expected to teach
three courses per semester. Applications should consist of a letter of
intent, a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, a statement of
teaching and research interests and three letters of reference. Review
of applications will begin on March 1, 2004 and continue until the
positions are filled.

In accordance with immigration requirements, priority will be given to
Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada. However, all
candidates are welcome to apply. Concordia University is committed to
