Meeting Description:

A one and a half day symposium on translation/interpreting at the hub
of disciplines organised by the Department of Hispanic Studies,
Sheffield University. This one and a half day symposium has been
arranged by Hispanic Studies staff at Sheffield University who share a
view of the interpeting/translating domain as relevant to a number of
disciplines across the arts and humanities, whether as inviting
definition within the terms of those other disciplines or whether as
suggesting analogues and partial models for them. To provide a forum
for further exploration of these ideas we have gathered the thinking a
number of distinguished external colleagues from very diverse areas
and concerns -linguistic, vocational, theatrical, political - and
working with languages beyond the Hispanic range.

Guest Speakers:

Mona Baker
John Clifford
Ann Corsellis

Nicholas Round
Robin Setton
