New Approaches in English Historical Lexis

A Symposium to be held in Helsinki, Finland on March 17th- 19th, 2005.

First Call for Papers

Papers are invited for a symposium on English historical lexis to be
held in Helsinki in March 2005. The symposium is intended to discuss
recent research in English historical lexicography, lexicology and
lexical semantics. While the main interest is English, contributions
discussing other languages in so far as they relate to English lexis
are welcome. Papers will be of 30 minutes duration plus 10 minutes for
discussion. Titles of papers should be notified to the organizers no
later than June 25, 2004. Abstracts of approximately 1 A4 page should
be submitted by November 12, 2004. The organizers also invite
suggestions for workshop sessions of 1 to 1.5 hours.

Plenary speakers: Professors Ian Lancashire, Zoltán Kövecses, and
Gabriele Stein
