Meeting Description:

The purpose of this seminar isto provide a forum to bring together a
variety of international research in the area of Global communication
through English.

The conference will be held at Syracuse University.  Distinguished
speakers will be featured such as Dean James Alatis, Georgetown
University, Professor Yasakuta Yano (Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan),
and Salikoko Mufwene (University of Chicago).  Other speakers will
discuss the various facets of globalization and global communication
from the perspectives of other disciplines such as psychology,
cognitive sciences linguistics, English, advertising, and government
and politics.  There will be researchers from all over the globe
holding lectures, workshops and panels at the conference.
