Description:

The University of Alaska Fairbanks Linguistics Program is currently
recruiting for an Assistant Professor of Linguistics (tenure-track), to
begin Fall 2005. Deadline for applications is December 10, 2004.

Typical Duties:
Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in linguistics, second language
acquisition, and second language teaching, as well as supervising graduate
students in Applied Linguistics and serving as a resource on language
teaching for teachers and Alaska Native communities. The Master's level
degree program in Applied linguistics includes students working on ESL ,
foreign languages, and Alaska Native languages. Some instruction may be by
distance delivery.

Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Linguistics or a related field by beginning of appointment;
evidence of successful teaching and research.
