Call for papers

Workshop on the morphosyntax of Modern Greek
This workshop will be held at the 2005 LSA Linguistic Institute at MIT and
Harvard on July 22-23, 2005. The workshop will take place on the Harvard
Campus.

We invite papers on all areas of Greek morpho-syntax (e.g. clitics,
agreement, voice-alternations, noun phrases, participles, wh-movement etc).
We are particularly interested in contributions which investigate the
interplay between morphosyntactic features and meaning, as well as
investigate Greek in a comparative perspective.

Abstracts are solicited for 30-minute presentations (followed by 10
minutes of discussion).

The Scope of the workshop

The scope of the workshop is centered around but not limited to the topics
given below:
- Learning Methods in Speech and Language Processing;
- Neural Networks for speech and Language Structures Recognition;

- Algorithms of Morphological and Syntactic Analysis of Natural Languages;
- Word Classes Establishment and Part-of Speech Tagging for Text Corpora;
- Parsing with Context-Free Grammars, Unification Grammars, etc.;
- Lexicalized and Probabilistic Parsing;
- Meaning Representation, Semantic Analysis;
- Word Sense Disambiguation and Information Retrieval;
- Reference Resolution;
- Natural Language Generation.

IMPORTANT DATES:

February, 16, 2005:  draft papers due
March 21, 2005:  Notification of acceptance
April 20, 2005:  Camera-Ready papers & Preregistration due
June 27-30, 2005:  2005 Int'l Multiconference in CS & CE

The draft papers (about 4-5 pages) for the technical session are due by
February 16, 2005; and are to be sent by e-mail to the Co-Chair of the
ILINTEC'2005 Workshop

The first page of the draft paper should include for each author:
- title of the paper,
- name,
- affiliation,
- postal address,
- E-mail address,
- telephone number & fax number,
- the name of the author who will be presenting the paper (if accepted),
- 5 keywords (maximum).

The length of the Camera-Ready papers (if accepted) will be limited to 7
(IEEE style) pages. Papers must not have been previously published or
currently submitted for publication elsewhere.

EVALUATION PROCESS:

Papers will be evaluated for originality, significance, clarity, and
soundness. Each paper will be refereed by two researchers in the topical
area. The Camera-Ready papers will be reviewed by one person.

PUBLICATION:

The conference proceedings will be published by CSREA Press (ISBN) in
hardcopy. The proceedings will be available at the conference. Some
accepted papers will also be considered for journal publication (soon after
the conference).  All conference proceedings published by CSREA Press are
considered for inclusion in major database indexes that are designed to
provide easy access to the current literature of the sciences (database
examples: ISI Thomson Scientific, IEE INSPEC, DBLP, ...).
