Description:

Educational Testing Service, an international leader in the field of educational
measurement, may have a Research Scientist opening in the near future.  The
ideal candidate would have a thorough grounding in linguistics with a strong
interest in computational applications and sufficient proficiency to implement
or direct the implementation of prototype of systems.  Expertise or interest in
cognitive science, such as psycholinguistics or the psychology of writing, would
be an added plus.

The position is in the Natural Language Processing Group in the Center for
Assessment and Design.  The Center conducts research on the integration of
psychometrics, cognitive science and technology, including NLP, with the goal of
enhancing the scientific and societal value of assessments.  The Scientist
position involves applying scientific, technical and software design skills in
designing and conducting research studies related to the candidate's expertise
and interest.
