The Second Language Research Forum (SLRF) will be held at The Pennsylvania
State University from October 14-16, 2004. The theme for this year's
conference, 'Convergence and Collage: Collaboration in Applied Linguistics

second language acquisition.

for more details.

During October 14-16, Penn State University will be hosting the 7th annual
conference of the Second Language Research Forum (SLRF) at the Days Inn State
College. SLRF is a prestigious and internationally renowned conference which
brings together researchers in second language acquisition (SLA) from all over
the world. It is the premier conference on SLA in North America providing a
venue for established scholars and graduate students to present work on a wide
variety of theoretical and empirical issues in SLA including cognitive,
linguistic and sociolinguistic SLA research conducted in both laboratory and
classroom settings.

The theme of this year's conference is ''Convergence and Collage'',
reflecting the breadth and collaborative nature of the field of Second
Language Acquisition. The theme captures the diversity of perspectives on
applied linguistics found at Penn State, which includes research from
psycholinguistic, structural, generative, socio-cultural, discourse,
functional and cognitive-based perspectives on second/other language
acquisition, development, and instruction.
