The main topic of the conference is

Speech technology for mobile communication

In the focus of the conference are applications and research perspectives for
speech technology and computational linguistics, which are relevant for mobile
scenarios. Contributions may address the following topics among others:

* Voice User Interfaces
* Dialog systems
* Interfaces to speech recognition and synthesis
* Web standards for mobile communication
* Personalisation and location-based services
* Distributed systems of speech technology
* Multimodality
* Intermediality
* Robust speech processing
* Ubiquitous computing and information filtering

Also contributions from other fields of computational linguistics, speech
technology and text technology are welcome.

Workshops

The conference will host the following workshops:

* Applications of GermaNet II
* Modeling Turn Taking as a Basic Mechanism of Communication

Please pay attention to the separate calls of the workshops. 

Contributed papers

Types of contributed papers:

    * Full papers to be published in the proceedings (submission of
extended abstracts, < 500 words)
    * Posters (submission of an abstract, < 350 words)
    * System demos (submission of a system description, < 350 words)

We accept only electronic submissions via our electronic submission form
(http://www.ikp.uni-bonn.de/cgi-bin/gldv05/psf.pl). From the abstracts any
references to the author(s) should be removed. Formats: MS Word, PDF. For
accepted papers a full version of the paper for publication in the

LE FRANÇAIS PARLÉ AU XXIe SIECLE
NORMES ET VARIATIONS

A conference on the topic of Spoken French to be held at Oxford University 

The University of Oxford is organising a conference on the topic of spoken
French. It will be held at the Maison Française d'Oxford on 23 June 2005. Claire
Blanche-Benveniste (Emeritus Professor, Université de Provence) and Henriette
Walter (Emeritus Professor, Université de Haute Bretagne) are amongst our
confirmed guest speakers.

Researchers are invited to submit papers within the suggested field. A detailed
presentation of the conference and practical information can be found on the
conference website: http://users.ox.ac.uk/~fp2005

Abstracts should not be longer than 500 words and should contain your name,
affiliation, department and email address on the first page and, on the second
page, a title and a summary of the paper. An RTF file should be sent by 10
December 2004 to the following email address: fp2005 at herald.ox.ac.uk  Accepted
papers will be allocated 20 minutes, followed by 10 minutes for questions. 

Papers and abstracts may be in French or in English.
