Semantics and Linguistic Theory 15 will be hosted by the Linguistics
Department of the University of California Los Angeles. The
conference will take place on March 25 through 27 2005. Please note
that these dates include the holidays Good Friday and Easter.

SALT 15 invites submissions for 30-minute presentations (plus
ten-minute discussions) on any topic pertaining to natural language
semantics  with relevance to linguistic theory. Abstracts should be
at most 2 pages in length (including examples and references) using a 
12 pt. font with 1-inch (2.5 cm) margins on all four side. In the
interest of fairness, these limitations will be strictly enforced. 
The same person may submit at most one abstract as a sole author and
one as a co-author.

We especially encourage abstracts that deal with the semantics of
underrepresented languages, including, but not limited to, the native 
languages of the Americas. 

Pending funding, we hope to be able to reimburse student speakers for 
their travel costs. Please indicate if you would qualify for such a
grant in the body of your abstract submission email (see below).

As a matter of general policy, SALT does not accept papers that at
the time of the conference have been published or have been accepted
for publication. In addition, preference will be given to
presentations that are not duplicated at other major  conferences. We 
therefore request that authors indicate prior or planned
presentations of their papers along with their contact information
when they submit their abstracts.  

We strongly encourage electronic submissions, which may be sent to
salt at ucla.edu. We ask authors to adhere to the following guidelines:  

 -  Please write the (first) author's name plus the word 'abstract'
in the subject line of your message (e.g., 'Jones abstract'), and
include author name(s), affiliation and contact information in the
body of the email.          

 - Please send the abstract as an attachment.  We prefer .pdf files
but will also accept plain text or MS-Word files; if you send the
latter, we ask that you send us a .rtf rather than .doc file if 
possible.  

If you choose to send in your abstract via regular mail, please
submit 7 anonymous copies plus a separate card giving the title of
the abstract, author name(s), affiliation, and contact information.

Abstracts (electronic or otherwise) should reach us by 12pm Eastern
time, December 20, 2004.  We regret that we will not be able to
consider abstracts arriving after this date.
