Dear Linguists,

The easiest way to keep up with the most recent Linguistics research is
available at our publication mini-site. I would like to introduce you to the
search facility for dissertation and academic paper abstracts.

You will find the LINGUIST List Dissertation Abstracts facility very useful, 
because it allows you to find information about dissertations according to 
the area of your interest. At present we have over 1000 abstracts stored 
in the database, categorized by their linguistic sub-field and subject language 
(or language family). 

The following are the total numbers of abstracts in major linguistic sub-fields:

There are 175 paper abstracts in our database at the moment. The browse and
search facilities make it easy to find papers on a particular subject or in a
particular field: you can search our collection of abstracts by keyword, author,
linguistic sub-field or subject language; so now you can quickly find papers
relevant to your research!

You can submit your PhD dissertation abstract or academic paper at the above
URL. It will be automatically entered into our database and announced in an
individual issue of LINGUIST - that's right, our 20,000 subcribers in the world
will see your abstract!

personal information for the Directory of Linguists can be done at your own
