Meeting Description:

ICELS 3 : LANGUAGE STUDIES AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY discusses advances in
linguistic, literary and language teaching theories and the use of computer for the fields.

Conference Profile
International Conference on English Language Studies 3 is held by the Graduate Program in
English Language Studies of Sanata Dharma University with the support of ASIACALL
Organization. The theme of this year's conference is Language Studies and Information
Technology. The topics include (but are not limited to)
-advances in linguistic and literary theories
-the use of computer for language research
-the use of computer for language teaching/learning
Academics and CALL and language research software developers are invited to share their
findings and ideas in the conference.

Place: Yogyakarta Indonesia
Yogyakarta is located in Yogyakarta Special Territory. It is about 45 minutes flight from Jakarta,
the capital of Indonesia, or 8 hours by train. There are also direct flights from Singapore and Kuala
Lumpur (Malaysia). As an important tourist destination, Yogyakarta is famous for the Sultan
Palace silver handicraft, and batik, and is very close to Borobudur Buddhist Temple (one of the
wonders of the world) and Prambanan Hindu Temple.

-Prof. Joseph Hung (The Chinese University of Hongkong)

Abstract: Anonymous abstract should be about 500 words and sent to els at staff.usd.ac.id as a
.doc attachment. Please include your abstract title, name, degree, institution affiliation, office/
mobile phone number, and address on a separate page
Papers: Paper presentation will be 20 minutes plus 10 minutes for discussion. Complete papers of
5000 words will be published in the conference proceedings and be available to conference
participants.
