2nd CALL FOR PAPERS

We are pleased to announce that the third Athens Postgraduate Conference in
Linguistics will take place  at the University of Athens on 9th and 10th
April 2005.

Abstracts (from any linguistic subfield) are invited for presentation of
current postgraduate research.

The purpose of the conference is to provide postgraduates with an
opportunity to discuss their research.

The languages of the conference are Greek and English.

Georgios Babiniotis (University of Athens)
Aleksandra Georgakopoulou (University of London)
Dimitra Theophanopoulou-Kontou (University of Athens)

Deadline of abstracts:  10 February 2005
Notification of acceptance:  25 February 2005

Abstracts guidelines:
- Length: 300-350 words
- Format: 3cm margins on all sides
- Font: Times New Roman 12pt
- The abstract should be anonymous. Include your name(s), affiliation(s)
  and contact information in the e-mail body

Accepted papers will be alloted 20 minutes for presentation. Please submit
your abstract as a Word file or PDF, with ''abstract submission'' in the
subject field (we can only accept abstracts sent by e-mail as attachments),
to: nlavidas at phil.uoa.gr (N. Lavidas), enouchou at phil.uoa.gr (E. Nouchoutidou).

Speakers will also be invited to submit their paper for publication in the
Proceedings of the 3rd Athens Postgraduate Conference.

The NorthWest Linguistic Conference is mainly a student conference - a
cooperation between the University of Washington, the University of British
Columbia, the University of Victoria and Simon Fraser University. However
submissions from students in other schools are welcome, as well as from
professors.

The Department of Linguistics at the University of British Columbia is
pleased to host the Northwest Linguistics Conference from April 9-10, 2005.
We invite graduate students to submit abstracts in any area of linguistics
for presentations and posters. Presentations will be 20 minutes followed by
10 minutes of discussion.

Submission Details:

+ Presentations will be 20 minutes in length plus 10 minutes for discussion
and questions.
+ Abstracts should be one page in length with references on a separate page.
+ Abstracts may be submitted via email (to nwlc at interchange.ubc.ca) in PDF,
plain text, or Word format. Abstracts may also be submitted by mail (see
below for address) or fax (604 822-9687) although submissions by e-mail are
absolutely preferred.
+ Please include title, author, affiliation and contact information in the
body of the email, or on a separate sheet. Please also indicate whether you
are a faculty member or a graduate student and whether you prefer to do a
poster or a presentation.
