We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it
is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have
taken the trouble to respond to the query.

To post to LINGUIST, use our convenient web form at

Dear Linguists,

I was speaking with our forensic anthropologist, and he has been using a
source for the Southern Sierra miwok language "Boomfield" or "Blumfeld"
1930. It is not a study that many people reference for this language. We
are most familiar with Broadbent, 1960, 1964, and Freeland, also
Callaghan...Is there a reference list from other linguists that we could
review?

I am the speech-language pathologist of the tribe, as well as a member
of the Tribal Archives Team. It would be very helpful if you have any
information as to who would know this information.

Thank you,

Sandra Gaskell, RPA
