Applications are invited from prospective PhD students for the Nigel Moores
Studentship, starting in October 2005.

The studentship comprises a tuition fee waiver (at the home/EU rate) and an
annual maintenance grant at two thirds of the standard research council rate
(£8,000 in 2005/06). Award-holders will be required to undertake 66 hours of
teaching each year in the department. The research studentship will be awarded
for up to three years of full-time study towards the PhD degree.

Applicants should have completed a Masters degree in an area of linguistics
relevant to their proposed research before taking up the award.

The proposed research should fall within the research interests of one of the
academic staff of the Department of Language and Linguistic Science.
