RESEARCH FELLOW (19,460 - 25,699 British pounds per annum)

We require a Research Assistant to join a research group
engaged in a project named TUNA (Towards a Unified Algorithm
for the generation of referring expressions). The project
aims to obtain a better understanding of the way in which
speaker/writers refer to individuals or sets of individuals,
by building computational models of references to objects
or sets of objects.  The project involves computational,
linguistic and logical challenges, and is partly based on
empirical (i.e. experimental as well as corpus-based)
research methods. TUNA involves a collaboration with the
Open University and with the University of Tilburg (The
Netherlands).

The research group is looking to recruit a research fellow
to play a leading role in the remaining 16 months of this
project, starting as early as possible. (Funding possibilities
after this period will be explored.) Experience at PhD
level in a relevant area of computing science, computational
linguistics, or logic is essential, as are good programming
skills.
