Meeting Description:

The conference, Cultures and Languages Across the Curriculum: Responding to a National Need, willexamine Languages Across the Curriculum (LAC) issues that have not yet been adequately discussed or analyzed, including:  1) How does LAC relate to comparative, cultural and area studies? 2) How does LAC fit into the international education missions of government and industry? 3) How does LAC relate to content-based language instruction and the development of new content-based FL textbooks and technology? 4) How can we better link LAC to K-12 foreign language and cross-cultural education as well as to post-secondary international education, including study abroad?
