Description:

The Department of Linguistics invites applications for a full-time
permanent post of University Lecturer in Linguistics to teach theoretically
broadly-based courses in Morphology and Phonology, and to contribute to other
aspects of the Department's teaching (particularly the Structure of English and
Historical Linguistics), to take up appointment on 1 January 2006 or as soon as
possible thereafter. The successful candidate will be expected to show
outstanding achievement and potential in theoretically driven research and
publication in one or more of these fields and to be able to make a full
contribution to departmental administration. 

The current pensionable scale of stipends for a University Lecturer is
£24,820 rising incrementally to £38,303 (pay award pending).  The post is being
advertised with a probationary period.  Further particulars and a PD18 form may
