The LINGUIST List strongly encourages employers to use
non-discriminatory standards in hiring policy. In particular we urge
that employers do not discriminate on the grounds of race, ethnicity,
nationality, age, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. However, we
have no means of enforcing these standards.

Job seekers should pay special attention to language in ads regarding
employment requirements and are encouraged to consult our international

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities invites applications for the post of
Professor of English: Contrastive Linguistics, to be appointed as soon as
possible. Applicants should be capable of covering the whole subject area
of linguistics in their teaching and should have research interests that
include a focus on the contrastive analysis of English and German with a

interdisciplinary cooperation.

The teaching duties include contributing to all the study programmes in the

planning of new study programmes.

Applicants should have appropriate teaching experience and should have
completed a post-doctoral research project ('Habilitation') or have an
